Q1: Why have a wedding video at all?

A1: Your wedding is the most meaningful day of your life. It is the day that your friends and family come together to celebrate the love between you and your beloved. It’d be a great loss not to preserve this once-in-a-lifetime event in your personal and family history.

With today's technology, your video can be preserved for several lifetimes with no generational loss. Just imagine if such technology were available during your parents' or grandparents' day. Wouldn't their a record of their wedding be worth watching? (Scroll down for more text)

Many couples can’t enjoy their wedding to the fullest because of nerves or the hectic schedule. A video allows you to re-live your wedding experience on hindsight, as well as share it with those who made it memorable.

Your memory of your wedding should stay fresh even after the corsages have withered and the gown and tux have been packed away. A wedding video is the next best thing to going back in time. Good wedding photography suspends individual moments, but it cannot be a substitute for a wedding video, which is a kinetic, dynamic account of moments worth capturing for posterity.

A good videographer will give you a video that will not just let you remember your own experiences, but also give you an insight into the things that were happening while your back was turned, or you were in another room.

Q2: My cousin has a video camera, and he said he can shoot my wedding for free. Why should I employ The Wedding Paparazzi to cover my wedding?

A2: The person volunteering to video your wedding may have the best of intentions, but it takes more than a steady hand and a decent camera to end up with a great wedding video.

There is a big difference between a home video, and a professionally shot and edited video production. The Wedding Paparazzi has resources that cousin Gary may not have access to - professional equipment, a media background, training and experience from a wide variety of weddings that translates to an ability to anticipate events to ensure being at the right place at the right time.

Plus, it’s hard work. Don’t you think your cousin deserves to enjoy your wedding as your guest?

Q3: I want my video to be special - can I get The Wedding Paparazzi to come up with a custom video?

A3: Absolutely! We love to stretch the limits of what a wedding video is supposed to look like, or the purposes it’s supposed to serve. We encourage not just our videographers and editors to think out of the box, but our clients as well. Some of our most favourite showreel pieces were suggested to us by our clients.

Don’t worry if you’re not too sure of what you want. The Wedding Paparazzi is more than happy to sit down to hear your ideas, ask the right questions, brainstorm with you and come up with a good, solid concept video that your wedding guests will never forget!

Q4: What kinds of special effects, CG (computer generated graphics) and transitions will you use in editing?

A4: Only the kinds that will make your video a joy to watch again and again. Our aim is to make your video timeless, not tacky. That means employing effects that complement the story of your wedding or the concept of your video, not just because of how ‘cool’ and ‘spiffy’ they look.

Q5: So you can’t do special effects? Won’t my video look very plain then?

A5: We’d rather take that little bit more effort to come up with an innovative concept than employ flashy effects that don’t do anything to enhance your story.

We believe that your story takes foremost priority, and we take pains to maintain its integrity without effects that distract and wow for now, but may make you cringe five years down the road. That’s not to say that The Wedding Paparazzi doesn’t have the equipment or know-how to dress up your video; we just don’t do it in an indiscriminate manner that screams for attention.

Our documentary videos use simple transitions, but employ techniques in pacing and storytelling that will have you watching your video because of the content, not the effects.

Our other videos are more elaborate, but no less tasteful.
